Chia Seed and Healthy Weight Loss

Losing weight by eating a healthy diet does not need to make you miserable. Preparing fresh food and using Chia seed will definitely make your task easier and less unpleasant. If you have been doing your shopping in the “health food” sections of the supermarket, putting up with expensive, unexciting food because it is the price of “eating right”, that can stop right now. The truth is that tasty, healthy, and nutrition laden foods are a normal part of nature and can be prepared in ways that bring out all the flavor and delicious taste you desire. What follows are some good ways to include Chia seed into a healthy diet that will help you lose weight the sane and healthy way.

Lentils and Chia Seed

Some “healthy” foods don’t have a lot of taste and you might not want to eat them by themselves. One good example are Lentils which are one of the most power-packed legumes available, with about 30 percent of their calories coming from protein. But, they don’t have a lot of taste. Neither the Lentils nor the Chia seed is going to change the taste but you will be getting a big boost in nutrition while eating those other foods that you love. Continue reading »

Chia Seed Italian Meatball

Italian meatballs are a favorite of many because of their spicy bold taste. Here is an easy recipe that includes Chia seed for additional nutritional value as well as the great taste.

 • 10 oz ground beef
 • 5 oz tomato paste
 • 2 tsp. stock powder (there are some brands that are gluten free if you choose)
 • 1 sliced onion
 • 1 tsp. oregano
 • 2 tbsp. Chia seed

Place all ingredients (including the Chia seed) into a medium mixing bowl and form your meatballs.
Cook over a medium flame (or heat if your using electric) taking care to tune the meatballs to prevent burning. Cooking time is 10-15 minutes for a decent meatball and longer if you make them bigger.

Serve with pasta or by themselves with either a salad or veggies.

By adding Chia seed to this pretty basic recipe you have turned a normal meal into something very nutritious!
